Doors of Perception weblog: 'Reversing the reversal' with john chris jones:
‘To begin with what can be imagined
To use both intuition and reason
To work it out in context
To model the contextual effects of what is imagined
To change the process to suit what is happening
To refuse what diminishes
To seek inspiration in what is
To choose what depends on everyone’
just got my new subscription to Index on Censorship - you can follow their blogging here: Latest news from Index on Censorship, leading the fight for free expression in the UK and beyond
new issue is about the internet+
[brave new words]
new issue is about the internet+

this is how hydesign used to be connected as displayed via touch-graph (which still exists but now looking very commercial)
am going to start blogging a bit more - assuming I find some interesting sign related stuf
starting with a few links to some old connections:
Sociable Media Group judith still doing interesting work
Interconnected matt's not blogging much nowadays - though does at BERG
Bonnie Nardi (always inspiring)
GUUUI (nothing new but still worth a look for old links)
Human Computation - Google Video
what a great talk
by Luis von Ahn, who is an assistant professor in the Computer Science Department at Carnegie Mellon University
- immediately made my think of the Man-Computer Symbiosis paper by J.C.R. Licklider, or Lick - ... took me so long to find (my old link to) that
- shows just how far away i am...

it's also funny
should also link Matt's work golcl which is very much up to scratch ;(wierd title though, Pulse Laser

didn't think this was my MakingMeaning listmania page - but it made me take a closer look . at . --> Making Meaning | Introduction a new book by Steve Diller, Nathan Shedroff, and Darrel Rhea which seems kinda interesting - couldn't not add it to the list either way :)
faking or simply misleading
whilst visiting guuui - as i have just received the new newsletter - and wandering around the old links - i noticed that even though i had left the site and was now at InfoDesign the url still read guuui.com - now this not only makes it difficult to bookmark or blog a particular page on guuui but also on any site you may venture to from there on....
For a site devoted to usability etc. this seems just a little lackadaisical

long time no blogging...
prompted by this piece by Joel on Software - It's Not Just Usability "an application that does something really great that people really want to do can be pathetically unusable, and it will still be a hit."
so what will be the next napster... i don't think it will be flickr - for all the hype it lacks something (fmm) but at least you can blog pics from there
